Tina's tiny theatre
Inspired by the box theatre's of yore, this is Afsaneh's latest immersive theatre offering for all ages. It is a completely portable tiny theatre where one audience member at a time views a short duration show. In Tempus, the façade of the theatre is a shelf of antique books; a tiny book is removed from the shelf creating a little peephole through which the audience can watch the show inside. There they find a kaleidoscopic world made of tiny mechanical clock parts- cogs, levers and springs to a backdrop of the night sky in watercolour. A character also made of intricate cogs and dials is studying the mastery of time. In their attempt to control it, they find themselves quite literally undone as the mechanics that make up their mind transforms into their ticking heart, ceases to beat, and scatters to become stars and planets of the night sky.
Blending puppetry, visual art and interactive theatre, it is a sweet, poetic, and often comic satire on the elusiveness of time and the mystery of life itself.
