raise the heart

Raise the heART is a collaborative, transformative and process-based theatre initiative that seeks to address violent extremism and racism in Melbourne's western suburbs. Together with Full-On Theatre's Dave Houston, we worked closely with a group of teenagers over 18 months to build 2 new works of theatre based on the stories and writing of the young people in our cast.
The first was a professional production with a cast of 24 that included immersive, visual and physical/dance theatre and was performed at the Melton Catholic Regional College in 2017.
The second was adapted with a new cast of 4 young people with a view to tour regionally and was performed at Melton High to students and the broader community.
