From The Rubble was presented at Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA) as part of Perth Theatre Company's 2015 season after it's previous development phase entitled Operation Zebra.
Exploding the boundaries of theatre From the Rubble is a multi-artform piece inspired by the work of writer and journalist, Walkley Award winner Sophie McNeill. Using the evocative images embedded in Sophie’s work you get a glimpse into the lives of civilians in conflict zones. Exploring themes of displacement, transformation and hope, the show tells compelling personal stories that find joy in the resilience and ingenuity of women the world over.The Performance Space is transformed into an immersive world, created by visual artist Fleur Elise Noble and a team of Perth innovators. The work investigates our contemporary relationship to conflict.
